Benton City man killed in motorcycle crash

A Benton City man was killed late Thursday night when he crashed his motorcycle on Highway 224 just east of Benton City.

Todd D. Phillips, 53, was headed east on the highway on a Harley Davidson FLU at 10:56 p.m. when he missed a curve, said a Washington State Patrol release.

The motorcycle left the road and went into a dirt field about two miles east of town. He was wearing a helmet.

State troopers said speed was the cause of the crash.
