Evidence in Kennewick break-in to be tested for possible link to suspect
Police will test evidence from the scene of a violent Kennewick break-in to identify a suspect in the case.
The evidence will be tested at the Washington State Patrol Crime Lab.
Two victims were tied up and assaulted by an unidentified man early Monday at a home on the 4600 block of W. Seventh Ave.
Both victims, who were treated for injuries, live at the house.
The suspect is described as being 5-foot-5, 150 pounds, with short black hair. He was wearing dark clothes and had something red over his left hand, which also had a finger splint.
It’s unclear why the suspect chose to break into the house, police said. A handgun belonging to one of the victim’s was stolen.
“This may have been a random burglary and the suspect was surprised when the victims arrived home,” said Sgt. Ken Lattin in a news release.
