SUV left running outside Kennewick shop stolen

Kennewick police are searching for a stolen SUV after its owner left it running when they ran into a convenience store.

The owner had left the blue and tan Isuzu Trooper parked outside the Circle K at 10th Avenue and Washington Street.

“Upon returning a short time later, the vehicle had been stolen,” said a Kennewick police release.

The store’s security camera caught footage of man suspected of taking the SUV. Anyone who sees the vehicle or the suspect should call police at 509-628-0333 or Tri-Cities Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477.

Police also said there are simple measures people often neglect to take to prevent being a crime victim.

“Many crimes are committed as 'crimes of opportunity',” the release said.
