Man points gun at driver in Kennewick road rage incident
Kennewick police are investigating after a man reportedly pointed a gun at a driver who was allegedly tailgating his wife’s vehicle Friday night.
The woman was driving through a parking lot of a business in the 6600 block of west Canal Drive to pick up her husband, a release said.
She was driving slowly and a man driving a truck behind her flashed his lights, honked his horn and, at one point, pulled up next to her and yelled at her, she told authorities. The other driver said she was braking in front of him, nearly causing him to wreck.
The woman’s husband left the nearby business when he saw the man yelling at his wife, walked up to him and pointed a handgun in the man’s face as they got into a verbal argument.
The husband eventually got into his wife’s car and they left but were stopped by police. He was briefly detained and his pistol seized but wasn’t arrested nor charged with a crime. He did have a valid concealed pistol license and video footage indicates the other man was driving aggressively.
Police declined to identify those involved pending the conclusion of their investigation.
