Police convince man not to jump from cable bridge

Kennewick police Sgt. Ken Lattin convinces Anthony Aguilar, 44, to climb over the railing and safely walk off the cable bridge Wednesday after he threatened to jump into the Columbia River. The incident began when officers responded to Clover Island for a disturbance between Aguilar and a woman. Aguilar ran from the officers to the bridge. Bridge traffic was sporadically disrupted for about two hours before Aguilar agreed to come down and was cited and released.
