UPDATE: Autopsy planned Wednesday on woman found dead in Zintel Canyon in Kennewick

An autopsy is planned Wednesday on a woman found dead in Zintel Canyon in Kennewick.

Her body was discovered by teens north of the Canyon Lakes Golf Course on Friday night.

The woman hadn’t yet been positively identified Saturday, although John Hansens, the Benton County coroner, said authorities “have some indicators on who it might be.”

He didn’t expect to release more information until Feb. 1.

Kennewick police, who continue to investigate the death, said there’s no reason to believe the community is in any danger.

Anyone who saw or heard anything in the canyon during the past few days is encouraged to contact police.
