Police: Kennewick man lies about stabbing, wounds self-inflicted

Police say a Kennewick man lied about being attacked and stabbed by a group of men earlier this week.

Randy S. Turner, 24, reported he was stabbed Monday night during a fight with three men near the Kamiakin Apartments.

Police did not find blood at the spot Turner claimed he was stabbed or on the path back to his apartment.

Investigators announced Thursday that the wounds Turner suffered in his torso were actually self-inflicted.

Police have referred a criminal charge of false reporting to prosecutors for review.
