Pasco man held on $50,000 bail for stabbing

A Pasco man is being held on $50,000 bail for allegedly stabbing a man in the side following an earlier dispute about a broken methamphetamine pipe.

Robert L. Bryant, 60, pleaded innocent in Franklin County Superior Court to first-degree assault for the Dec. 27 incident. His trial is March 2.

Pasco police were called to Lourdes Medical Center just before 4 p.m. for a man stabbed on his left side just below the armpit.

Stephen Robinson, 48, told officers he had been at a West Margaret Street apartment when Bryant attacked him with a large kitchen knife, court documents show.

A witness told police that Bryant accused Robinson of breaking his pipe and Robinson hit him. Bryant returned to the apartment later that day and immediately went after Robinson, court documents said.

The blade reportedly came close to hitting Robinson’s lung. The wound was serious enough that he had to be moved to Kadlec Regional Medical Center in Richland for treatment.
