Walla Walla hires 3 new police officers

Walla Walla Three new Walla Walla police officers were sworn in this week.

They will be assigned to the patrol division after other officers were moved to the newly formed Career Criminal Apprehension Team and the Gang Enforcement Team as part of the police department’s violent crime reduction strategy.

The total of commissioned officers is now 46.

Officer Paul Green, a 2001 Walla Walla High grad, was formerly with the Walla Walla Sheriff’s Office and also served six years in the Navy as a Seal Team member.

Officer David Garland is an eight-year veteran of the Terre Haute, Ind., police department. He was born in Walla Walla, but his family moved away when he was young.

Officer Eric Eastman was born and raised in Walla Walla and graduated from Walla Walla High in 2010. He served in the Marine Corps for five years.
