2 arrested on suspicion of DUI in Kennewick

A man was arrested Tuesday night in Kennewick after fleeing a crash after his car struck a curb and then broke two wheels.

Mario Ramirez reportedly was driving too fast in the 400 block of Underwood Street just before the crash, said Kennewick police. A witness stopped Ramirez as he fled and then returned to the scene of the crash.

Ramirez was booked into the Benton County jail on suspicion of DUI and driving with a suspended license.

Kennewick police also arrested Margarita Mora on suspicion of DUI in a separate incident Tuesday night in the 1100 block of Keller Place.

Police officials said extra patrols are ongoing around the state as holiday festivities continue and they are encouraging residents not to drink and drive and instead to find safe rides home.
