Bullet found in kitchen after shots heard in Kennewick neighborhood
A Kennewick woman found a bullet on her kitchen floor after gunshots were heard in the area.
Officers responded to the 600 block of Tweedt Street on Dec. 5 after shots were reportedly fired. Police checked the neighborhood and spoke with citizens, but couldn’t find any evidence of a shooting.
A short while later, a woman called police to say she found the bullet in her kitchen, authorities said. Police determined the bullet went through an outside wall, struck a sofa, went through an inner wall and hit the dishwasher.
Investigators checked the street and found two .45-caliber shell casings near the home.
Witnesses reported hearing a vehicle leave the scene, though police do not have a description of the car.
Anyone with information on the shooting is asked to contact police at 509-628-0333.
