Stepfather arrested for allegedly abusing 2-month-old Kennewick boy
Police arrested a 20-year-old man for allegedly abusing his infant stepson, causing serious injuries.
Zak L. Wilding was arrested Nov. 22 and booked into the Benton County jail on suspicion of second-degree child assault.
Kelcee Taggart took her 2-month-old son to the emergency room at Kadlec Regional Medical Center because the boy would not stop crying, police said. Doctors found the boy had an acute subdural hematoma and several fractures to his ribs, arms and legs.
The boy was then flown to Sacred Heart Medical Center in Spokane to be treated. Doctors expect him to make a full recovery.
Wilding, who is married to Kelcee, was contacted by police a short time later and arrested after being interviewed.
