Man assaulted, robbed outside Kennewick restaurant

Police are looking for two men who assaulted a man and stole his wallet and cellphone as he stood outside a Kennewick restaurant.

Williams Guardado, 50, was standing outside La Placita Mexican Restaurant at 5011 W. Clearwater Ave. checking his cellphone around 11:30 p.m. when two men approached him, said a Kennewick police release. The men grabbed Guardado, threw him against a vehicle and punched him in the face several times.

The men took Guardado’s cellphone and wallet before fleeing in a gold Oldsmobile Aurora. Guardado managed to go back in the restaurant and notify staff about what happened. His injuries were treated at the scene.

The vehicle the suspects fled in had Washington plates of AUL 3854. Both men were described as Hispanic, one being being approximately 25 years old, 5-foot-8 with a stocky build and wearing a stocking cap and dark colored coat. The other suspect was between 25 and 30 years old, also with a stocky build and had a short mustache and beard.

Police are looking for the suspect’s vehicle. Anyone with information about their whereabouts should call 509-586-8477, 800-222-8477 or go to www.tricitiescrimestoppers.org. Tipsters may choose to remain anonymous.
