14 shots fired on Pasco street, 1 narrowly misses man
A 27-year-old Pasco man escaped injury Saturday evening when a bullet fired into his car became lodged in the back of his headrest.
Fourteen shots were fired after 5 p.m. in the 300 block of West Bonneville Street. Police can’t say for sure if the shooting was gang-related.
The man, whose name was not released, was driving through the area and is believed to have been the intended target, said Pasco Sgt. Brad Gregory.
The victim “was less than cooperative,” calling police because he claimed he found a bullet hole in his car and initially giving a wrong location, Gregory said.
Officers have no suspect information, but believe the shooter was on foot and used an automatic pistol based on the shell casings found in the road.
In addition to the bullet that went through the back window of the victim’s car, four struck a nearby home with one going into a window.
“Fortunately, the house was unoccupied,” Gregory said.
