State says Prosser-area pot shop sold to minors

A Prosser-area marijuana store was busted for selling to an minor just over a month after it opened, said the state Liquor and Cannabis Board.

The Bake Shop, 19705 N. Griffin Road, was among seven businesses, in Yakima and the Tri-Cities that sold marijuana or alcohol to underage investigative aides working with officers on Oct. 23, the board said. Seven others did not sell to minors.

The aides are ages 18 to 20 and must present their true IDs or none if they are asked for it. Fines or temporary license suspensions can be issued to businesses that fail compliance checks.

The Bake Shop became Benton County’s second recreational marijuana retailer when it opened in September.
