Two injured in Highway 240 crash
Two people were injured in a collision just after 6 p.m. Tuesday on Highway 240 just east of Interstate 182, according to the Washington State Patrol.
Juan C. Torres, 26, of Kennewick, struck a car in front of him that had slowed for traffic with a 1990 Toyota Corolla, state patrol said. The car that was struck, a 2015 Subaru Crosstrek, driven by Azure M. Bonilla, 32, of Pasco, was pushed into a 2014 Nissan Murano, driven by Maribel Garcia-Reyes, 45, of East Wenatchee.
Torres and his passenger, Efren P. Torres, 27, of Grandview, were taken to Kadlec Regional Medical Center in Richland. State patrol said the others were not injured.
Inattention was listed as the cause of the collision. State patrol said Juan Torres faces a second-degree negligent driving charge.
The Toyota and Subaru were both totaled, while the Nissan was driven from the scene, state patrol said.
The collision caused traffic to slow on all four lanes of westbound Highway 240 for more than an hour Monday.
