Update: Man found dead in Pasco street may be suicide
Pasco police found a man dead in the street with a self-inflicted gunshot wound Tuesday night near Stevens Middle School.
The man was found at North 24th Avenue and Henry Street, a few blocks east of Highway 395.
Pasco officers said someone driving by saw the body about 8:30 p.m. and called police.
The preliminary investigation shows it was a suicide, police said.
The victim was described as a man in his early 20s, with a single wound to his chest. Police said he was already dead when they arrived.
Detectives were canvassing the neighborhood late Tuesday, trying to identify the man or to find witnesses who may have seen or heard something.
Police had blocked off the area around 24th and Henry while they investigated.
