Richland crash injures two

A Mattawa man was cited for negligent driving following a rear-end crash over the weekend in Richland, said the Washington State Patrol.

Roberto D. Velazco, 22, was driving a Dodge Neon west on Highway 240 near Van Giesen Street on Sunday when he crashed into a Acura Integra stopped at a light, troopers said.

The Acura driver, Oswaldo Gonzalez Ortiz, 25, of Pasco, was treated at the scene and released.

A passenger in the Dodge, Marcina Campos Cauhutenango, 24, of Mattawa, was taken to Kadlec Regional Medical Center.

Troopers say Velazco was not paying attention and will be charged with second-degree negligent driving.
