Pasco officers shoot aggressive dog

A Pasco police officer shot and wounded a dog Monday afternoon after it charged police officers.

Two dogs were aggressively chasing people in the area of Road 40 and Opal Street near Mark Twain Elementary just as students were to be released about 3:30 p.m.

The first officers to arrive were confronted by both dogs, said police.

One officer fired at one of the dogs, stopping the attack. The injured dog was taken to a veterinarian where it is expected to recover.

Animal control officers are following up with the pet owners. No people were hurt.
