Generator worth $50,000 stolen from Hermiston business
A Hermiston man was arrested after a generator worth an estimated $50,000 was stolen from a Umatilla County business.
The generator and a trailer were taken Sept. 29 from M & M Potato’s property in Hermiston, said the Umatilla County Sheriff’s Office.
A police sergeant spotted Nolan Douglas McClatchy, 48, driving with the generator attached to a trailer, the sheriff’s office said. The sergeant stopped and arrested McClatchy, who also had a warrant out for his arrest.
Police searched a property connected with McClatchy, where they found a pickup reported stolen from Walla Walla and the trailer stolen from the Hermiston business, the sheriff’s office said.
McClatchy was booked into the Umatilla County jail on suspicion of first-degree aggravated theft and a parole violation.
