Clerk struck with rifle during Pasco robbery
An employee at a Pasco store was assaulted with a rifle during an armed robbery.
Two men came into Cellulares El Rey on West Sylvester Street about 9:45 p.m. Tuesday and confronted the employee, according to police.
One suspect was carrying a metal baton and the other had a black rifle, police said. The employee was hit in the head with the butt of the rifle, leaving a mark on his forehead.
The suspects left the store with several cell phones, two laptop computers and an undisclosed amount of cash.
The suspects were described as African-American and Hispanic. There is no surveillance video of the robbery.
Police are trying to identify a witness who apparently hid in the bathroom during the robbery.
