4 injured in Prosser pile-up

Speeding and inattention are to blame for a Prosser crash that injured four people Thursday evening, the Washington State Patrol reported.

Paul B. Jorgensen, 55, of Hermiston, was driving a 2011 GMC Sierra pickup south on Highway 221 about 5:30 p.m. at Sales Yard Road when he struck 35-year-old Alejandrina Bruno’s Ford Fusion.

Bruno’s car then hit a 1989 Acura Legend, driven by Javier Perez, 52, of Prosser. Perez was taken to PMH Medical Center with unknown injuries.

Bruno, of Prosser, was taken to PMH Medical Center along with her passengers Diana L. Cortina, 16, of Prosser, and Raquel I. Castaneda, 14, of Prosser.

Bruno’s and Perez’s cars were totaled, the state patrol said. Jorgensen was not injured and was cited for speeding.
