Police are investigating what happened to a teen found with a gunshot wound at a south Kennewick mobile home park on Wednesday.

The 14-year-old boy called his mom to report he’d been shot and that he was at a friend’s home in the Chinook Mobile Home Park at 1724 W. 45th Ave. And she alerted police about 3:15 p.m., said police Commander Ryan Kelly.

Officers found the teen with a leg wound, and he was taken to a local hospital.

The boy told officers he’d been shot nearby, but it’s not clear what happened.
