3 motorcyclists clocked at 120+ mph on major Tri-Cities corridor
Three motorcyclists were jailed Friday after Kennewick police say they were speeding down Clearwater Avenue at more than 120 mph.
Officers reported seeing the three drivers at 3:15 a.m. Friday in the area of West Clearwater Avenue and North Union Street going about 100 mph.
Then, an officer farther west saw them speed past at more than 120 mph, according to police.
About 15 minutes later the motorcycles were spotted in Columbia Park in Kennewick, according to a Kennewick police report.
Police said none of the motorcycles had license plates, two of the drivers had suspended licenses and the cycles were linked to a habitual reckless driving complaint on the 3700 block of West Ninth Avenue.
One driver, Gabriel Sprague, 22, struggled with police when they tried to arrest him, said Kennewick police.
All three motorcycles were impounded, and the drivers were booked into the Benton County jail and released later in the afternoon.
▪ Sprague was arrested on suspicion of reckless driving, second-degree driving with a suspended license, violation of city park regulations, resisting arrest, second-degree false reporting and obstructing a public servant.
▪ Aydin Keeling, 23, was arrested on suspicion of reckless driving, second-degree driving with a suspended license and violation of city park regulations.
▪ Malachi Flajole, 21, was arrested on suspicion of reckless driving and violation of city park regulations.
