A Kennewick man was being held in the Benton County jail Sunday on suspicion of vehicular assault after crashing his pickup on Highway 240 early Sunday morning.

The Washington State Patrol suspects alcohol was involved and says there were two juveniles and another adult in the Ram pickup when it crashed just before 1:30 a.m.

Fabian Munoz-Velez, 27, was driving east on Highway 240 in Kennewick, about a mile west of Highway 395 and the blue bridge, when his pickup left the road to the left and rolled, according to WSP.

The children, whose names and ages were not released, and Munoz-Velez were not injured.

However, passenger Monserrat Cortes Rojas, 24, of Kennewick, was hurt and was taken to Kadlec Regional Medical Center in Richland by a private vehicle, according to WSP.

Everyone in the pickup was wearing a seat belt.

The cause of the accident remains under investigation.
