1 seriously injured in head-on wreck in rural Benton County
A driver was airlifted to a local hospital after a head-on wreck in rural Benton County, south of the Tri-Cities.
Benton County Sheriff’s deputies responded to a report of a two-vehicle collision near South Plymouth Road and Reese Road around 3 p.m. Thursday, according to a social media post from the sheriff’s office.
First responders found several people with injuries. Due to the severity of the wreck and damage to the vehicles, one person had to be freed from a pickup truck and was flown to a local hospital.
The other vehicle was a Jeep that appeared to be towing a trailer, according to photos posted by the sheriff’s office.
The intersection was closed down for several hours Thursday.
The Benton County Sheriff’s Office continues to investigate what happened.
The crash happened just after another head-on collision killed two people at the Lewis Street exit off Highway 395 near the blue bridge in Pasco.
