What started as a report of a car crash in Pasco on Saturday turned into an investigation into a man being shot.

Callers to 911 reported a one-car collision about 10:30 a.m. Saturday near the corner of Road 68 and Court Street, Lt. Tom Groom told the Tri-City Herald.

Officers arrived to find passersby helping a man with a gunshot wound, said Groom.

Police and firefighters took over caring for him and then took him to a local hospital. His wounds weren’t life-threatening.

It remains unclear if the car hit anything, how the shooting happened and whether police have a suspect.

No one had been arrested by Monday afternoon for a shooting. Anyone with information about the shooting is asked to call Pasco police at 509-545.3421.
