A young girl was pulled from an irrigation canal near Prosser on Friday afternoon.

She was spotted floating face down in the water in the canal near King Tull Road about 2:20 p.m., according to initial dispatch reports.

Firefighters and Columbia Basin Dive Rescue volunteers were on their way to the scene when an officer jumped in the water and pulled the girl to the bank, according to initial reports.

Benton County sheriff’s deputies were performing CPR, and then she was being taken to Kadlec Regional Medical Center in Richland. Her condition was not immediately available.
