A drunk driver is accused of driving the wrong way on Highway 395 in Kennewick early Sunday.

A driver flagged down a Kennewick police officer near the intersection of Highway 395 and Yelm Street about 3 a.m. Sunday after a silver Ford Focus drove south in the northbound lanes, Kennewick police Commander Ryan Kelly told the Tri-City Herald.

Police officers found the car stopped in the road nearby. The driver, Briselda Navarro Sanchez, was allegedly asleep behind the wheel.

Officers pinned the vehicle in before waking up Navarro Sanchez. She allegedly said she had been drinking at a downtown Kennewick bar. She agreed to a breath test and her blood-alcohol level was 0.14%.

Navarro Sanchez was booked into the Benton County jail for driving under the influence. She was released on $1,000 bond later that morning.
