‘Molotov cocktail’ attack leaves 1 hurt, 1 in Pasco jail for attempted murder

A 24-year-old man is accused of being part of a plan to kill two men in downtown Pasco.

Alexander Sisouvanh of Kennewick was booked Wednesday in the Franklin County jail on suspicion of two counts of attempted first-degree murder, two counts of first-degree assault and possessing an explosive device.

He is being held in lieu of $250,000, but formal charges have yet to be filed.

Sisouvanh allegedly was in a white Chevy Silverado that stopped near Griggs Department Store on Sunday, Jan. 11.

A group of suspects got out of the pickup and threw flaming bottles similar to a Molotov cocktail at two men, court documents said.

The glass bottles shattered, splashing burning fuel and shards of glass. One of the men was hurt.

Court documents do not say when the attack happened or why the victims were targeted.

The suspects got back into the pickup and drove away.

Pasco Detective Andrew Taylor said the coordinated attack was carried out with the intent to cause “serious injury or death.”

Police used security and Flock traffic cameras to link the pickup truck to Sisouvanh, according to investigators.

Police learned he bought the truck in November and six days after the attack this month traded it in to another dealer to buy a GMC pickup.

Police located and arrested Sisouvanh near Dallas Road and Ava Way about 5 p.m. Wednesday.

Detectives are continuing to investigate the attack, and anyone with information is asked to contact Taylor at 509-545-3421.
