A woman at the center of an about hour-long standoff in Richland Tuesday allegedly threatened a couple in a Pasco apartment in November.
Saida Gomez Hernandez, 49, was one of three people who walked through a slightly open door at the Columbia Court Apartments on Nov. 17 while one of them had a gun.
She was charged on Dec. 8 in connection with the case, and a $40,000 warrant was issued.
The Pasco Street Crimes Unit allegedly found Gomez Hernandez was at a Richland home on Tanglewood Drive. Tri-City Regional SWAT along with Richland police surrounded the home and began calling for her to exit.
Two people were taken into custody. One was detained shortly after the SWAT team arrived.
The other took about an hour of negotiations to get to leave the house. SWAT officers used flash-bang explosive devices to get people inside to surrender.
Gomez Hernandez surrendered and was booked into the Franklin County jail on the outstanding warrant.
Pasco Burglary
Gomez Hernandez, Aliana F. Beltran, 19, and Juan L. Hernandez-Gutierrez, 25, went to the 24th Avenue apartment about 4 p.m., court documents said. They allegedly walked through a sliding glass door that had been left slightly open.
One of the victims reported that the trio were already in her home when she exited the bathroom. Hernandez-Gutierrez had a gun in his waistband while he yelled at her husband to come outside and fight, court documents said.
Beltran and Gomez Hernandez allegedly wanted to fight the woman because they believed she was “talking s--t” about them.
The women told investigators that Gomez Hernandez or Beltran started approaching her son who was less than a year old. The woman grabbed her baby and then was hit in the wrist with an unknown object.
Gomez Hernandez and Beltran also allegedly threw items at the woman.
Hernandez-Gutierrez was arrested two days after the initial confrontation. He pleaded guilty on Dec. 18 to second-degree burglary. He was sentenced to a month in jail.
Beltran remains in Franklin County jail in lieu of $25,000 bail. She faces one count of first-degree burglary while armed with a deadly weapon.
