Update: Suspect in November armed burglary arrested by SWAT team in Richland

One person was arrested after an hour-long Tri-City Regional SWAT team standoff at a Richland home Tuesday.

SWAT and Tri-City police agencies served a warrant related to a November burglary at 495 Tanglewood Drive about 11 a.m. The address is close to the northern side of the Duportail Bridge and south of W.E. Johnson Park.

Two people were taken into custody. One was detained shortly after the SWAT team arrived.

The other took about an hour of negotiations to get to leave the house. SWAT officers used flash-bang explosive devices to get people inside to surrender.

Richland police said one person was arrested in connection with a Pasco police Street Crimes Division investigation.

Richland police said on Facebook that they had finished in the area about 12:20 p.m.

Burglary investigation

Pasco police officers responded to a welfare check at an apartment complex on Nov. 17 after receiving information that multiple people had entered a residence and threatened the occupants.

Police determined there were three suspects involved in the incident, which included threats and implied presence of a firearm, according to Pasco police.

Two of the suspects were later located and arrested.

The Franklin County Sheriff’s Office obtained a warrant for the third suspect for burglary in the 1st degree involving a deadly weapon.

On Jan. 1 the Pasco Street Crimes Unit began a focused effort to find that person.

They were located Tuesday and arrested.

Pasco police did not release the names of the suspects in a social media post about the arrest.
