The body of a 31-year-old woman was found Monday morning on the shoulder of Highway 395 a couple of miles from the Washington state line near Umatilla, Ore., according to the Oregon State Police.

Breann Hailey Mayberry of Umatilla was found about 6 a.m. along the northbound shoulder of the highway east of Umatilla, near Milepost 2.

Evidence found near her body indicated she’d been struck by a white semi truck, but it had not stopped, according to state police.

Investigators were still at the crash scene when they saw a damaged white Freightliner semi and trailer being towed down the highway.

The damage was consistent with evidence at the accident site, and the Freightliner was seized, according to state police.

The driver, Timothy Alvin Brown, 66, of Yakima, was arrested for failing to perform duties of a driver, according to state police.

Traffic was blocked for a time near Umatilla while state police, assisted by the Hermiston Police Department and Umatilla Fire District 1, spent about five hours conducting the on-scene investigation.
