An 18-year-old is behind bars after being tied to three burglaries between two popular Kennewick businesses.

Kennewick police arrested David Semenyuk about 10 a.m. Wednesday at a home on the 400 block of East Third Avenue, the agency said on Facebook.

Police announced on Nov. 5 that they were looking for Semenyuk and Andres Medina-Garcia, 20, in connection with burglaries at Hubby’s Pizza and Summer’s Hub of Kennewick.

Semenyuk is being held on suspicion of theft of a motor vehicle, second-degree burglary, second-degree theft, second-degree arson, and first-degree malicious mischief in connection with the Oct. 16 burglary at Hubby’s Pizza, Detective Alexander Holden told the Tri-City Herald.

Detectives are still working on filing reports for the Oct. 18 and 20 burglaries at The Hub of Kennewick.

Police are continuing to look for Medina-Garcia, and have previously asked for the public’s help in finding him. Anyone with information is asked to call the non-emergency dispatch number at 509-628-0333 or submit a tip through kpdtips.com.

Police started looking for the burglars when they allegedly drove a stolen Hyundai Elantra through the wall of Hubby’s Pizza. They then grabbed an ATM from inside, and tried to break it open, Kennewick police told the Tri-City Herald.

After failing that, they got back into the Elantra and drove to the 700 block of Deschutes Avenue, where police found the car on fire.

The nearly 50-year-old pizza business at 346 West Columbia Drive was able to partially reopen the day after the break in, after structural engineers reviewed the damage and confirmed it was safe to occupy. Their dine-in space has been limited because of the damage.

Two days later Semenyuk and Medina-Garcia allegedly forced their way into the main building of The Hub of Kennewick for the first time. They grabbed cash registers, and on Oct. 20 they tried to force their way into the ATM.

They managed to steal a small amount of money, Holden said.

There have been reports of other businesses being burglarized, but it’s unclear if Semenyuk or Medina-Garcia have been linked to them.

Semenyuk has been in trouble with the law six times in the past two years in Benton and Franklin counties. He’s been convicted in juvenile court on four of those cases and has another pending for possession of a stolen vehicle from Oct. 27.

Andres Medina-Garcia has a pending Superior Court case for residential burglary from July and a 2024 conviction for second-degree burglary, court records show.
