The second suspect in a shooting at a Pasco party in October pleaded innocent Wednesday to charges of six counts of first-degree assault.

Brian A. Panduro-Valenzuela and his co-defendant Osman C. Morales-Salto, 21, are accused of shooting into a crowded party after fighting with some of the guests.

Morales-Salto and Panduro-Valenzuela have spent about eight months out of jail since being acquitted in the murder of 20-year-old Denali Anderson outside an August 2022 party in Pasco. That party was one of the largest shootouts in Pasco history.

Panduro-Valenzuela appeared by video in Franklin County Superior Court Wednesday afternoon. He was represented by public defender Micheal Nguyen and is in custody at the Franklin County Jail.

Chief Deputy Prosecutor Julie Long asked a judge Thursday to set Panduro-Valenzuela’s bail at $5 million. It was increased from a $2 million bail previously set by another judge.

Panduro-Valenzuela is hoping to receive legal defense from Spokane criminal defense attorney Steve Graham.

Graham is the attorney who represented him in the earlier murder trial.

He was arrested Wednesday, Oct. 28. He was taken into custody in Rathdrum, Idaho, at a construction site. He was returned to Pasco to face the charges. He lives in Spokane, according to the public defender.

Panduro-Valenzuela must also surrender any firearms in his possession to the Pasco Police Department and was ordered to follow six individual no-contact orders.

Long said that the both suspects will be tried in the same trial.

The bail for Morales-Salto was set for $5 million at a preliminary hearing on Oct. 30.

Pasco party turned dangerous

Court documents show the two showed up uninvited at an Oct. 25 party on Robert Wayne Drive. While inside, one of them got into a confrontation with a woman, court documents said.

That led to a group of party-goers trying to get the men to leave. Morales-Salto allegedly pulled out a gun during the ensuing fight near the front door. The fighting stopped for a bit but then Morales-Salto and Panduro-Valenzuela allegedly started shooting at some party-goers and at the house from the driveway, court documents said.

Six people were hit in the arms, legs or rear with gunshots. There were reports of two people being hit in the chest. All are expected to survive.

The suspects fled before Pasco police arrived. Officers found 10 9mm and two .380-caliber shell casings. The home had multiple bullet holes and a large amount of blood throughout the first floor.
