31-year-old accused of raping Pasco teen in exchange for marijuana
A 31-year-old man allegedly groomed a 15-year-old Pasco student and began demanding sex after supplying her marijuana.
Grant F. Woods of Richland pleaded innocent recently in Franklin County Superior Court to four counts of third-degree child rape. He is currently out of jail on a $50,000 bond.
Woods allegedly reached out to the teen late last year through SnapChat, court documents said. She had heard about Woods from two of her friends who said they’d had sex with him.
On New Year’s Day 2025, Woods allegedly sent the teen an inappropriate message. She ignored that message, but a few weeks later, he offered to get her a marijuana vape.
They met near her home in his car, and he provided her the disposable vape. He allegedly made more inappropriate comments when they met.
They continued to meet between January and March, court documents said. She told a forensic interviewer that she felt pressured into giving Woods oral sex several times after he provided her with marijuana and coffee drinks. He also asked her for nude photos of herself.
In her statements to police, she said she was afraid of what Woods would do if she refused.
Pasco police were alerted on May 7 to Wood’s interactions with the teen and began to investigate.
Investigators set up an interview with Woods on Oct. 14, and he was arrested.
