‘Porch pirate’ accused of stealing mail and packages with his bike and cart
A Pasco man was arrested this week after allegedly stealing mail and swiping packages off porches in Richland and Pasco.
Police say Jesse James Manroe Flores, 42, was spotted on a security camera taking items Tuesday night outside a home in west Pasco.
He was riding a bike and pulling a small cart, said a Franklin County Sheriff’s Office post on Facebook.
The next day, officers armed with a warrant searched a tent in a Pasco backyard where he was reportedly living.
Flores was not there, but officers said they found credit cards, bicycles, a briefcase, tax documents and other items reported stolen.
Missing items were reported stolen in Richland and all the items found in the tent were transferred to the Richland Police Department, said police.
Later, Franklin County detectives found and arrested Flores on suspicion of trespassing, theft and possession of stolen property. He was booked into the Franklin County jail, with bail set at $2,500.
