A 23-year-old man died in a Friday morning collision on the rural road between Pasco and Kahlotus.
The driver, whose name has not been released, was headed east in an Acura when a Ford F-250 veered into his lane on Pasco Kahlotus Road about 6:30 a.m., Sgt. Joshua Dennis told the Tri-City Herald.
The Acura driver died at the scene and the pickup driver was taken to a local hospital. His condition was not immediately available.
Both of the men appeared to be heading to work. No one else was in either vehicle.
Investigators are still trying to determine why the truck heading west toward Pasco pulled into the oncoming lane. Investigators have ruled out impairment.
The crash happened about three miles from the intersection of Highway 12, near Locust Water Road.
Pasco Kahlotus Road, commonly referred to as the P-K highway, is a rural two-lane road that winds through farms and pasture land between Highway 12 and small Franklin County town of Kahlotus.
