Pedestrian killed after being hit by vehicle near Costco in Kennewick identified

A 61-year-old Kennewick man died while trying to cross six lanes of Gage Boulevard near Costco Monday morning.

Bryan Guyll was crossing south on Gage Boulevard in an area without a marked crosswalk about 8:30 a.m., Officer Fernando Ramos said. He was in the road when he was hit by a westbound Toyota Rav4.

Kennewick police and firefighters along with Richland firefighters responded to the scene and tried to save the man’s life, but he died, Ramos said.

The SUV’s driver appeared to still be at the scene about 10 a.m. He seemed to be distraught.

Gage Boulevard between Grandridge Boulevard and Louisiana Street reopened at 10:20 a.m. after being shut down for about two hours during the police investigation, Kennewick police said in a Facebook post.

Investigators are asking anyone who saw or recorded the crash to call the non-emergency dispatch number at 509-628-0333.
