Drug bust at Tri-Cities house turns up guns and 2 kg of fentanyl pills, powder
The Tri-Cities Metro Drug Task Force and federal agents seized fentanyl, guns and cash from a Pasco home on Thursday and arrested two people on suspicion of intent to sell fentanyl.
The task force and officers with the Drug Enforcement Administration and the U.S. Marshal’s Service served a search warrant at 423 Madrona St., according to a federal court document.
When no one answered a knock, law enforcement breached the door and saw two people standing in the living room.
Jaime Garcia and Kaylee Gardner were arrested, according to a court document.
A search found 1,062 grams of suspected fentanyl pills, 933 grams of suspected fentanyl powder and a small quantity of suspected methamphetamine, according to a court document.
Law enforcement also found four rifles, three pistols and a shotgun.
One of the pistols was a 9mm Glock equipped with a device, commonly called a “Glock switch,” that could turn it into a fully automatic machine gun, according to a court document. It had a round in the chamber.
Garcia told investigators that he had previously been robbed at gunpoint, according to the court document.
Law enforcement also found what was described as “a large quantity U.S. currency” in a purse, according to the court document.
After a search warrant was issued for Gardner’s phone, investigators found messages that referred to recently obtaining about 1 kilogram of fentanyl powder, according to a court document.
Garcia and Gardner are scheduled to have their first appearance in the case in federal court on Tuesday.
