Man in critical condition after jumping from the cable bridge into Columbia River
A man was in critical condition Tuesday morning after being pulled from the Columbia River after he jumped from the cable bridge.
A passerby reported seeing the unidentified man jump from the bridge about 9 a.m., Kennewick fire Battalion Chief Jake Van Horn told the Tri-City Herald.
It wasn’t immediately clear where he was on the bridge when he went into the water. The bridge deck is about 54 feet above the river.
A Pasco Fire Department’s fire boat found the man in the river and took him to the Clover Island marina where they met up with Kennewick medics.
They worked to resuscitate him and took him to Kadlec Regional Medical Center in Richland.
