An early Thursday fire extensively damaged a cinderblock restroom building at a Benton County park.

A Benton County sheriff’s deputy found flames fully engulfing the restroom at Two Rivers Park about 2:30 a.m., Benton County Fire District 1 said in a Facebook post.

The fire started outside of the restroom at the 100-acre park in the Finley area, southeast of Kennewick along the Columbia River. The blaze then spread to the building.

There are no reports of anyone being inside the restrooms at the time of the fire, said Jenna Roberts, Benton County Fire District 1 public information officer.

The fire extensively damaged the building, Roberts said.

Benton County Sheriff’s Office investigators are trying to determine what started the fire.

Anyone with information about the fire is asked to contact the Benton County Sheriff’s Office at 509-628-0333.
