A 62-year-old woman was seriously burned early Friday after her propane stove apparently exploded inside her Finley motorhome.

The woman told investigators she lit the stove to make some tea and soon after heard an explosion about 2:15 a.m., said Jenna Roberts, the Benton County Fire District 1 public information officer.

A neighbor also heard the explosion and raced into the burning motorhome and got her and her two dogs out, Roberts said.

The victim was able to talk but had suffered burns on her face, arms, legs and hands, Roberts said.

Benton County Fire District 1 firefighters arrived at the scene at 207206 E. Finley Road and the fire was out about 20 minutes later. They received help from the Kennewick Fire Department.
