Two teens are accused of opening fire on a Grandview police officer’s home in Benton County Monday afternoon.

The unnamed juveniles were the driver and the front passenger in a Dodge Neon about 4 p.m. when they approached the officer’s home on the border between Benton and Yakima counties.

Three adults, including two 19-year-old women and a 20-year-old man, were in the back seat.

The teen in the passenger’s seat allegedly opened fire after seeing the patrol car in front of the home, Benton County Sgt. Horacio Gonzalez said.

No one was hit in shooting. It remains unclear if any property was damaged.

The Grandview officer spotted the Neon and called 911. The Neon was stopped in Grandview minutes later. All five people inside were arrested.

The two teens are being held in lieu of $100,000 for 72-hours in Benton-Franklin Juvenile Detention.

The three adults were released from the Benton County jail Tuesday. Deputy Prosecutor Brooke Sempel said prosecutors might file charges later.

The Benton County Sheriff’s Office continues to investigate the shooting. Anyone with information is asked to contact Sgt. Horacio Gonzalez at 509-735-6555 or the non-emergency dispatch number
