The family of a Pasco father of two is asking for help after he was killed on Highway 12 coming home from work.

Salvador Beltran, 28, was heading north of on the highway toward Burbank in a Toyota Scion about 3 a.m. on Saturday, Sept. 21, when a Hyundai Santa Fe hit his car head-on.

Beltran was killed and the other driver, Caitlin Bailey, 40, of Athena, Ore., was seriously hurt, the Washington State Patrol said in a traffic memo.

“Salvador was a bright and beautiful soul and left us too early,” said Leslie Beltran in a GoFundMe campaign to raise money for his family. “The Beltran family appreciates all the support and love from the bottom of our hearts.”

While the GoFundMe accuses Bailey of being drunk, WSP officials are still investigating reports of her driving south in the wrong lane and awaiting blood test results.

After the crash, she was taken to Kadlec Regional Medical Center in Richland. Her current condition was not immediately available on Tuesday.

No charges had been filed as of Tuesday by the Walla Walla County prosecutor.
