California man still on the run after allegedly killing Richland father of his ex

Investigators are still searching for a man accused of killing the Richland father of his ex-girlfriend.

Omar Ambriz-Lorenzano, 35, of Porterville, Calif., disappeared after shooting Mariano Garcia-Yanez, 45, of Richland on July 3 at a Grandview home, the Yakima County Sheriff’s Office said in a Facebook post.

Deputies were called to 100 block of Bridgeview Road about 2:30 a.m. by a woman who reported that her father had been shot during an argument with her ex-boyfriend, according to a sheriff’s office release.

When deputies and Grandview police officers arrived, they discovered Garcia-Yanez had been shot and couldn’t be revived.

Investigators searched the area, but couldn’t find Ambriz-Lorenzano.

It’s unclear if charges have been filed yet in Yakima County.
