A 54-year-old Kennewick man died after his motorcycle went off the side of Keene Road Wednesday afternoon.

Shane McCullough was riding his motorcycle east on Keene Road shortly before 5:45 p.m., West Richland police Commander Mitchell Coates confirmed to the Tri-City Herald.

Witnesses said he was driving normally toward Bombing Range Road before drifting off the side of the road. He hit a gravel patch on the side of the road, and went over the handlebars.

McCullough died at the scene, Coates said.

No one else was involved in the crash. Alcohol and drugs are not suspected to have been involved in the crash.

An autopsy is scheduled for Friday to determine if he died from the crash or because of a medical reason, Benton County Coroner Bill Leach said.
