A 36-year-old Kennewick man is dead after being shot Thursday night in his South Vancouver Street driveway.

People reported hearing shots fired on the 200 block of South Vancouver Street about 8:40 p.m., according to a Kennewick police news release.

When officers arrived, they discovered Juan Belloso in the driveway with apparent gunshot wounds.

Blood and a bullet hole could be seen Friday morning on the side of his garage, near a fence and gate to the backyard. A red Honda Civic was parked in the driveway of the small rambler.

Police said Belloso was taken to Kadlec Regional Medical Center where he died.

Investigators believe Belloso knew the suspect and are investigating it as a homicide.

Anyone with information about the shooting is asked to contact police using the non-emergency dispatch number at 509-628-0333. People can submit a tip anonymously through kpdtips.com.

Online court records show Belloso had a lengthy criminal history, mostly for driving without a license, but he also previously pleaded guilty to taking a corrections officer’s car in 2009.
