A Yakima County man wanted on suspicion of trying to kill three people in a drive-by shooting was arrested in Prosser over the weekend.

Prosser police and the Benton County Sheriff’s Office arrested Raul Robert Alvarez, 31, during a traffic stop on Kinney Way on Sunday on a warrant related to his alleged involvement in a shooting in Grandview on Dec. 12.

Alvarez was booked into the Benton County jail just before 3:30 a.m. Sunday, according to jail records. His bail is set at $750,000.

The warrant issued for his arrest on Dec. 15 charges him of three counts of attempted first-degree murder, one count of drive-by shooting and first-degree illegal gun possession.

Each of the attempted murder charges comes with a deadly weapon enhancement, according to court records.

More information about the shooting on Dec. 12 were not immediately available.

Alvarez was previously accused of being involved in drive-by shootings. He had been sentenced to 88 years in prison, but that conviction was overturned by a Washington appeals court, according to the Yakima Herald Republic.
