Update: 3 youths arrested for robbing Kennewick store twice for cash and vape pens
Three youths are accused of a pair of armed robberies at a Kennewick convenience store.
Two 14-year-olds and a 12-year-old were arrested Wednesday for robbing the same Circle K on Fourth Avenue twice.
Police have been looking for the suspects since they struck the first time at 11:45 p.m. on Oct. 5. They struck again at 12:20 a.m. on Tuesday. Each time, they left with cash and vape pens, Kennewick police said in a news release. In one of the robberies, they came into the store with a gun.
Officers caught up with two of the boys about 12:30 p.m. Wednesday.
A group of Kennewick officers and Benton County deputies spotted the suspects near Fourth Avenue and a foot chase started. Officers quickly caught the first suspect.
A second one avoided capture for several minutes while officers used a dog and a drone to search for him. He was finally located on Fourth Avenue and arrested.
Police shut down several roads around Fourth Avenue while they looked for the teens.
The third boy was found and arrested later in the afternoon, police said.
Officers executed a search warrant on Wednesday and recovered some of the stolen property.
The boys were booked into the Benton-Franklin Juvenile Detention Center on suspicion of first- and second-degree robbery.
Police are asking anyone with information about the robberies to contact the Kennewick Police Department at 509-628-0333.
